TGCDT - January 2022 - Symbols of Fortune

Hello & Welcome to Crafting Down Under. My name is Brenton. And this is my FIRST monthly Gentlemen Crafters Design Team Blog Hop. The Gentlemen Crafters Design Team (#TGCDT) are a group of male crafters & Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world, that love to share our creative side with you on the 2nd Friday of each month. Be sure to visit all the presenters in this month's hop - links can be found at the bottom of this post.

For my FIRST BLOG HOP I am sharing a quick easy card with our NEW Symbols of Fortune Suite. This Suite was recently released in the NEW January - June 2022 Mini Catalogue.

Symbols of Fortune Suite

The symbols of Fortune Suite has a beautiful set of designer series papers that simple lend themselves to creating beautiful cards with just a few simple items.

I wanted to keep my colour inspiration as simple as possible, so I used Coral Calypso and Soft Succulent.
Card base is a standard C6 card base 14.8cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm, with Designer Series Paper [Symbols of  Fortune 12 x 12] Layer of 14.3cm x 10 cm.
With the Satin Shimmer Ribbon - in the gorgeous soft succulent colour. I cut about 15cm length. then adhered it to the reverse of the card layer with Stampin' Seal Plus, wrapping it around the card layer.
Die Cut using the Good Fortune Dies, the flowery thingy... LOL.. not sure what they are, Ive heard its meant to be gingko or ginseng. anyway, Cut one out with the Mother of Pearl Specialty Paper. its STUNNING. attached it with the multi purpose glue to the ribbon.
Whilst I was die cutting, I use the layer circles dies, to cut out a scalloped circle in Soft Succulent cardstock and a smaller circle in basic white cardstock. adhered together with multi purpose glue. and Stamped with Calypso Coral Ink with a sentiment from the Crane of Fortune Stamp Set.
Stuck the Sentiment to the card layer with Dimensionals. Embellished with Polished Dots and the Brushed Brass Butterflies in odd numbers. then glue another basic white cardstock layer on the inside of the card for writing and another stamped sentiment if you wish.
p.s. The Brushed Brass Butterflies are not part of the Symbols of Fortune Suite,

Thankyou all so much for stopping by. I have had a BLAST creating this card for you and for my First Blog Hop.
