TGCDT - July 2022 - Hippest Hippo - Sale-a-bration

Hello & Welcome to Crafting Down Under. My name is Brenton. And this is my monthly Gentlemen Crafters Design Team Blog Hop. The Gentlemen Crafters Design Team (#TGCDT) are a group of male crafters & Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world, that love to share our creative side with you on the 2nd Friday of each month. Be sure to visit all the presenters in this month's hop - links can be found at the bottom of this post.

For my BLOG HOP I am sharing a card using the NEW Sale-a-bration Items, Hippest Hippo Stamp Set and Hippo Dies, as well as using the NEW In-Colour Designer Series Papers. Something a little fun and whimsical this month, and managed to create a masculine card. Today I'll also be showing you an extra technique & products to create this Stunning Card

Hippest Hippos

  1. Card Base in Starry Night 14.8cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm
  2. Card layer in Starry Sky designer Series Paper 14.3cm x 10cm
  3. In Starry Sky cardstock die cut square from stylish shapes dies using the 2nd largest die. then die cut the largest banner in the starry sky cardstock. Then using the largest short banner dies cut in sweet sorbet DSP.
  4. Die Cut a Circle in the 3rd largest die in basic white.
  5. Stamp in memento black a hippo of your choice.
  6. using the gray granite stampin blends, colour the hippo, then using the SU1000 & SU900 colour the hippos snout/nose. then die cut using the hippos dies.
  7. with the Starry Sky Ink and a blending brush, blend the background of the Basic White Die cut circle.
  8. Using Versamark stamp your sentiment in the top let corner, and then using the white embossing powder heat emboss using an embossing heat tool.
  9. On some scrap basic white use the sweet sorbet stampin blends and colour the cardstock using both light and dark to create an umbrae effect, the die cut using the hearts in the hippo dies.

Assemble your card

  1. Using multipurpose glue, glue your hippo to the circle die cut.
  2. Then glue your circle to the bottom right corner of the Starry Sky Square die cut that has the embossed sentiment.
  3. Then using the Starry Sky and Sweet Sorbet Die cut banners attach with multi purpose glue.
  4. Glue to the DSP Layer the using Dimensionals adhere the square/circle/hippo over the top of the banners.
  5. Adhere the DSP layer to the card base with dimensionals.
  6. Then using dimensionals add the largest heart to the top of the card and use multipurpose glue to adhere the other 2 hearts.
  7. Then finish off your card with the Starry Sky Matte Dots and adhere dots randomly to the card.
  8. Then adhere a Basic White card Insert to the card ready for a possible sentiment.

Thankyou all so much for stopping by. I have had a BLAST creating this card for you and for my Blog Hop.
