TGCDT - November 2022 - Cottage Wreath

Hello & Welcome to Crafting Down Under. My name is Brenton. And this is my monthly Gentlemen Crafters Design Team Blog Hop. The Gentlemen Crafters Design Team (#TGCDT) are a group of male crafters & Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world, that love to share our creative side with you on the 2nd Friday of each month. Be sure to visit all the presenters in this month's hop - links can be found at the bottom of this post.

For my BLOG HOP I am sharing a card using the Cottage Wreaths Bundle. I just love wreaths and when we used this bundle during World Card Making Day, I knew I had to create a Christmas Card that I intend on sending to family and friends this year. This is for a more seasoned/avid card maker and has lots of fiddly bits to it, so if you don't mind some detailed work, I guarantee the result is worth it.

Cottage Wreaths

What you will Need:

  1. Card base in Thick Basic White 14.8cm x 21cm scored @ 10.5cm long side
  2. Layer #1 in Basic White 14.8cm x 10.5cm
  3. Basic White for sentiment
  4. Very Vanilla 10.5cm x 14.8cm for wreath & leaves
  5. Crumb Cake 10.5cm x 14.8cm  for wreath & leaves
  6. Real Read  10.5cm x 14.8cm  for Bow
  7. Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder
  8. Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Bone Folder & Sponge Daubers.
  9. Early Espresso & Merry Merlot Ink Pads.
  10. Adhesives - mini & standard dimensionals, liquid glue & Embellishments,

Lets Get to Creating:

  1. Cut all your cardstocks. And score your card base @ 10.5cm
  2. Grab Layer#1 basic white cardstock and emboss with the  Brick & Mortar embossing folder. and Adhere it to the card base. Grab a Sponge Dauber and crumb cake ink pad and gently antique the bricks, so they look a little weather worn. remember to use a light touch and don't overload your dauber with ink, dab off the excess on some scratch paper.
  3. Die Cut in Very Vanilla the thinner of the wreaths and 8 leaf sprigs. Then Die cut the thicker of the wreaths and 8 leaf sprigs in Crumb Cake.
  4. Die Cut the Bow (not the die that die cuts the stamped bow) and cut 2 in real read. Then you want to antique the bows with the Merry Merlot using a sponge dauber, remember to use a minimal soft touch, you just want to accent the bows.
  5. Stamp the Sentiment from the Hope and Peace Stamp Set, in Early Espresso then die cut with the Deckled Rectangle Dies, or which ever you want to use or have.
  6. Now with your silicon mat, its time to stick the leaf sprigs to the wreaths. Grab your Crumb Cake wreaths and Leaves and Turn the wreath over, so the underside is facing up, and do the same with the leaves, then place a spot of liquid glue at north south east and west (or 12, 3, 6, and 9) then place a leaf on each glue spot with leaves facing out, then place another set of glue spots between the the others, so they are equally spaced around the wreath.
  7. Do this also for the Very Vanilla wreath.
  8. Then place mini dimensionals on the Crumb Cake Wreath, I stuck them on where the leaves are stuck to the wreath.  Don't remove the dimensional backings yet. Turn over so the good side is facing up. the place a spot of liquid glue around the wreath so that the Very Vanilla Wreath can be adhered on top.
  9. You can then remove the dimensional backings and adhere to the card front.
  10. Place the bow on your wreath with either liquid glue or glue dot. Then place an mini dimensional in the centre of bow, Grab the Second bow and slightly curl backward with a bone folder, so that it looks like the bow is puffed up. then adhere it to the dimensional.
  11. Embellish with some  Sparkly Champagne Rhinestones and a Red Rhinestone for the centre of the bow. And you are DONE.
